Fat Flush Water

I’ve posted the “fat flush” water on Instagram, but I figured it deserved its own post here on the site. I found this online and have adapted it because I can hardly find tangerine in my local grocery store, so I use naval orange or, if I buy a bag/box, a couple of clementines. We see “recipes” for fruit/veg/herb infused water everywhere, and I tend to like this flavor combination myself. The benefits of each ingredient, which make it good for weight loss, are:

  • Cucumber – natural diuretic, helps with bloating
  • Mint – assists with healthy digestion
  • Grapefruit – one of the best fruits for weight loss, helps increase metabolism
  • Orange – Vitamin C assists fat burning during exercise

You can adjust the amount to your taste, and use organic when available, but this is what I do:

  • 1/2 Cucumber, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 Grapefruit, peeled and segmented
  • 1/2 Naval orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 large handful mint leaves, torn/bruised (to release oils)

Combine these ingredients in a 2QT container, fill with filtered water, let sit overnight, and drink throughout the day. I even refill with water during the day to get more mileage out of it! I highly recommend you drink fat flush water on days where you exercise for the most benefit but it doesn’t hurt to drink it on days you don’t. Enjoy!
